Beautiful location and pool but the room amenities did not wow us...

The location is stunning and don't forget to make use of the private beach to swim in the ocean... glorious. Pool was great too, excellent temperature and plenty of sun lounges to relax and eat/drink the day away. We were very appreciative of the upgrade to a room with a balcony so we could have our coffees taking in the lovely view. Air-conditioning was excellent (and very necessary). Shuttle pick up and drop off from the ferry port is a plus! Breakfast was varied and plentiful, a great way to start the day.

The hotel has plans for a massive and well-overdue upgrade, but I wonder how much the rooms will cost then... for the price we paid, the room was satisfactory but the bathroom felt like a dungeon - there was a very dim light and you couldn't really see in the shower. The meals at the restaurant were expensive and just ok.

We would come back!

The location is superb, a short walk from the center but on that cliff with that view, it was fantastic! Also, it’s true that the rooms are dated, but for me that just adds to the charm of the place, but that’s very individual taste I guess. The shuttle from the Marina was a nice add-on.

We stayed while there was a wedding going on, which itself is not a problem, even tough we couldn’t use the pool area for a whole day, but more importantly we felt like the staff and everyone was only focussed on them and neglected the other guests. Reception wasn’t really helpful. It was our honeymoon so we also wanted to be treated well. The bathrooms do really need an update, while everything else is still in great shape, the bathrooms are simple due for renovation.

Incredible view, fantastic location and very attentive staff, but definitely needs updating.

Incredible view! The proximity to the sea was great. We were able to swim and snorkel right from the hotel.

The hotel was a bit dated. The plumbing needed maintenance. Only one faucet in the sink worked and the shower never got warm.

paradise for sea-lovers

Stunning location, exclusive access to the cristal clear sea. Oversized swimming pool with salt (sea) watering two jumping boards, relaxing atmosphere, helpful staff. The hotel is in a walking distance from the town (Lipari) and hundreds of restaurants, cafes and the harbour. The hotel provides a free shuttle service on arrival and on departure.

breakfast becomes problematic after the first group - heading for trekking - had their, and this is early in the morning. Some more fresh and local fruit, vegetables, cheese, honey would be very welcome, Overall the quality of the restaurant is not at the height of the hotel. Beds are all singles, just put together, mattresses are soft, pillows are too high. Overall it looks aged, and maintenance conditions are basic.

in summer time it's a fabulous opportunity

stunning location, direct access to the cristal clear sea, great swimming pool with salt sea water, short distance from the town, peaceful place, friendly and helpful staff, a number of excellent restaurants in a walking distance for nice dinners with local fresh food

Breakfast lacks of fresh local fruit, fresh local cheese, local marmalades and local honey, some poor organization. The kitchen is not at the height of the location. Small wardrobe, simple furnitures in the rooms, all of them are standard, with few exceptions. very dated furnitures and services, minimum level of comfort in soft beds, all double beds have two single mattresses.

Lovely location, view is absolutely stunning. Access to the sea at the bottom of the cliff is really cool. Staff is very friendly and helpful

This place is very outdated, both from the outside but especially from the inside. It’s almost like you’re time traveling back to 1985. Rooms haven’t been updated since so there is old furniture, it’s smelly, poor lighting, dirty toilet brush, towels are dirty, fridge doesn’t work, airco makes weird noises. Shuttle bus from and to the harbor was late, which was annoying and almost caused us to miss the boat even though we booked it enough in advance. Finally, it’s a bit ridiculous that you’re being charged an extra €3 for a pool towel. It all feels like this was the place to go 25 years ago but right now, you feel its dilapidating. Don’t expect modern 4* standards here.

Fabulous location, great food and great staff

The view from our room over the ocean was great. Sure, the hotel has a 60's/70's aesthetic but that's its charm - it completely matched my expectations and was similar to the standard of other accommodation we had in Sicily. Great pool, great food and staff went above and beyond to make it a great stay.

Apparently the transfers to town used to be free (according to the friends who were staying with us). We visited town a number of times and the hotel couldn't always take us so we used taxi's. More transfer availability would be highly valued - potentially making them free again.

Very old fashioned hotel in a good location in Lipari. It requires renovation and a little bit more of a kick but overal

Nice hotel, nice setting, just a 12 min walk from the main streets. A few of the staff was very nice. Good range of service (pool, bar, restaurant, shuttle)

The property is tired and a bit old, in need of upkeep. Bed was a bit uncomfortable and toilet light as well as minibar were not functioning properly. A slight smell of drain in our room as well did not help.

A wonderful stay at Carasco - we would happily return for another visit.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Carasco. We were travelling with our 4 teenage children and selected the hotel as they offered a quadruple room with 4 single beds. The pool area is fabulous with the most incredible view. There are steps down the side of the rocks and a ladder into the sea so we spent a lot of time jumping off the rocks into the stunning blue water. Our rooms had fabulous views over the sea which was just heaven to wake up to each morning. The British owner and her husband are often found in the lounge or by the pool. We loved hearing the stories of the early days in Lipari and the history of the hotel.

The rooms and overall decor of the hotel is quite tired and is in need of a good update, however this did not dampen our stay at all. We would definitely return. The hotel is a 15-20 walk into town so make sure you have comfortable walking shoes.

a beautiful time capsule with idilic swim spots and old world charm

the location is incredible. the first night we were there we saw a meteor cross the sky while listening to the ocean lapping the cliffs below. the swim spot is amazing with lots of fish and sea life when snorkelling. the staff are so friendly and make the stay incredible

there are a few elements that need to be updated but it all adds to the charm
